What's It For? - Rose Food
The following information has been taken from the packaging of the fertilizers that are sold in the Trading Hut. For more information about fertilizers, their uses and explanation of the labelling see the RHS web site.
Description
Rose Food is an inorganic fertilizer with NPK Values 5-5-10.
Rose Food contains all the essential nutrients and trace elements for healthy plants and promotes abundant blooms. Extra magnesium is included for richer, greener leaves. This rose Food is also suitable for feeding trees and shrubs.
Directions for Use
Before Planting
Sprinkle 135g/sq.m. (4oz/sq.yd.) over the planting area. Fork well in.
Established Roses
Sprinkle 135g/sq.m. (4oz/sq.yd.) evenly over the soil. Lightly fork or hoe in. this is best done in mid-March or at the first sign of growth. Apply 70g/sq.m. (2oz/sq.yd.) in the same way at monthly intervals through the summer.
Planting Patio Containers
Mix 28g (1oz) with 2 or 3 handfuls of compost or soil. Fill the bottom third of the pot with the mixture, position the rose and top up with compost or soil.
Care of Container Grown Roses
Sprinkle 20g around the rose (about a level tablespoon).
Application Advice
Use the recommended amount. Apply evenly between the plants, without touching the plant itself. Avoid using on windy days. Water well in after applying. Wash hands after use. To be used only where there is a recognised need. Do not exceed recommended application rates.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from children, pets and foodstuffs.
