Trading Hut

The Trading Hut has become the focal point for many activities on site over recent years. There are always a bunch of plot holders and members there on a Sunday morning buying fertilisers etc., or simply socialising. The range of products on sale is improving all the time and good horticultural advice is in abundance.

The Trading Hut is very often the first point of contact for new members and Elaine, our Trading Secretary, ensures the prices are always competitive. If you are interested in helping out in the Trading Hut - either behind the counter or working behind the scene weighing and bagging up products, we are always looking for extra volunteers ... so please pop in and have a word with Elaine - you will be made very welcome!

2019 Opening Times

This year the Trading Hut will be open from February to the end of September between 10.30am and 12.00 noon on the first Saturday of most months, and on Sundays for most other weekends during the main growing season. Here is the full list of opening days:

• Saturday February 2 and Sunday February 10, 17, 24
• Saturday March 2 and Sunday March 10, 17, 24, 31
• Saturday April 6 and Sunday April 14, 21, 28
• Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 12, 19, 26
• Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 9, 16, 23
• Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 21
• Saturday August 3, Sunday 25 and Saturday 31
• Sunday September 8, 15, 22, 29

Come along and stock up on gardening products at keen prices, including compost and potash for your fruit bushes and trees, lime for the brassicas and your favourite general fertiliser - organic or otherwise.

This year our supplier, Halmans of Peover, will be providing us with an even wider range of competitively priced, excellent quality bedding plants, hanging basket and planters.

We are again offering you two ways to order and pay for your plants:

PAPER ORDER FORM: You can download and print off this form, or pick up a copy from the Trading Hut, and either: Deliver the completed order form and payment to: Jonathan Richards, 24 Carlton Road, Sale, M33 5GB by Sunday 5th May, or: Take the completed form and payment to the Trading Hut between 10.30am and 12 noon on Saturday/Sunday opening days (see TradingHut page for full list of dates) up to Saturday 4th May (Trading Hut not open on Sunday 5th). The deadline for receipt of your orders and payment is Sunday 5th May (Saturday 4th May if you want to leave your order at the Trading Hut).

Orders will be ready for collection from the Trading Hut on Saturday 18th May between 11.00 am and 12.30 pm (afternoon). The Trading Hut will be open for sales of compost and fertiliser during this event.

Finally, if there are any members who are able to spare 1½ hours on a Saturday or Sunday morning to help in the Trading Hut, Elaine our Trading Hut Manager would love to hear from you. We have a rota, so you would only have to help one week in every five or six. Any assistance will be much appreciated.
