What's It For? - Fish, Blood and Bone

The following information has been taken from the packaging of the fertilizers that are sold in the Trading Hut. For more information about fertilizers, their uses and explanation of the labelling see the RHS web site.

Description

Fish, Blood and Bone is an organic fertilizer with NPK Values 5-5-6.5.

It is an organic-based multi-purpose plant food that will feed all the plants in your garden. Fish, Blood and Bone provides both a rapid boost and long-lasting results so a single application lasts up to six weeks to keep plants in best condition and encourage flowering.

Directions for Use

General Plant Feeding

Scatter 70g/sq.m. (2oz./sq.yd.) onto the soil. Lightly fork or hoe in and water well if the soil is dry. Repeat at intervals of 6 weeks through the growing season.

Preparing Beds, Borders and Vegetable Plots

Scatter 70g/sq.m. (2oz/sq.yd.) onto the soil before planting or sowing. Fork in well and water thoroughly if the soil is dry.

To be used only where there is a need. Do not exceed recommended application rate.

Application Advice

Use gloves when using this product. Dogs may try to eat the bonemeal in Fish, Blood and Bone. Although it is not harmful to them it is suggested that a mulch is used around newly-planted specimens to deter them. Keep the container away from dogs when in use and when stored. Do not use where cattle, sheep, goats and deer have access. Use the recommended amount. Apply evenly between the plants, without touching the plant itself. Avoid using on windy days. Water well in after applying. Wash hands after use and avoid contact with skin.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from children, pets and foodstuffs.
